Today was Girl Guides East Division Day!
This year it was at Changkat Changi Sec. Their school is nice & big ok? lol.
Anyway, we all reached school early to pack everything that we need for the different competitions into the bus. We reached Changkat Changi Sec and we put everything like our poles at the field where the gadget competition was held. While walking towards the field, i saw Pearlyn! :D
So yea. Then we just went up to the hall to have the usual welcome address, etc. Soon, it was competition time!
Olivia, Yan Mae, Teng Ping, Mahirah and I took part in the " gadget making competition ". WE MADE A SWING! The knots and lashings on our swing were strong and neat that we could even step on it, jump on it and do whatever we want on it but it never broke or dropped! :D
Before this competition day, we spent so many days staying back in school just to practice the gadget to make it perfect and really strong in a way that any weight can sit on it. The process of practicing the making of the swing was fun but also tiring. When we finished making the whole structure, it started to rain. And our swing is wayyyy too big to fit through the opening to the shelter from the field, so we had to leave it out there in the rain. Everyone else could bring in theirs and continue working on it. We couldn't so one of the judges said that they would give us extra time. yeaa right. In the end when the rain subsided,
we continued decorating our swing. After a while, they said time's up right? So in the end, we didn't even need the extra time coz we finished our swing and everything earlier. Then the judges come, look at our swing then theystart saying stuff. They kept saying that they said that we are not allowed to use this kind of big long poles. Must use gadget poles. They said that they stated it in the instructions paper. Check the paper people! Hardly anything says that. Ms Chua tried to tell them that but all they could say is " Sorry that we did not specify our instructions. " Like wth. All of us were like soooo upset. I mean we spent so much time and effort on perfecting our swing and in the end become like that. ): So yea, we did not win anything for this gadget making competition. bla bla bla ~~ They said that they didn't disqulify us, but i honestly don't know if i actually believe them. =XWell, at least we know that all of us did our best. Our final product looked nice ;D . Even Ms Chua, Ms Tan, Ms Siti & Ms Shim also say its reallyy nice and strong too. So it didn't really matter if we won a not, the thing is we all had fun doing it! (:After we went back to school, we sang taps and we dispersed. Ms Chua, Ms Tan and Ms Siti went out to lunch with us [ oliva. teng ping. yan mae. mahirah. me. ]. A pity Ms Shim couldn't go. It was Ms Chua's treat! :D THANKS MS CHUA! We went to the swensens at the airport to eat. We ate and chatted and laughed. hahas. Then the 5 of us left after eating as yan mae and olivia had to rush off for tuition. Took mrt. Dropped off at tampines with Teng Ping. Went to buy bubble tea. Walked with teng ping at the " night market " near tampines mall. Then took bus back home. At least this day didn't end THAT badly. I still had fun with olivia, yan mae, mahirah and teng ping plus the 3 teachers, Ms Shim too! :Dps. Now Ms Chua calls the 5 of us the " gadget girls " . LOL.21.07.07 wasn't that bad yea?
